Oriol Armengol joined PEREZ-LLORCA in 2000, having worked as an associate for more than six years at a Spanish boutique firm. He was made partner of the Firm in 2003.
As an expert in EU and Competition Law, Oriol advises national and foreign clients on all aspects related to these areas of practice.

PRACTICE AREAS
Competition
Oriol specialises in all matters relating to Competition Law, a field in which he mainly offers practical advice on specific issues such as restrictive practices, abuses of dominant position and all regulatory aspects concerning merger control. He acts in administrative proceedings before the Spanish and EU competition authorities, as well as before the regulatory bodies of different sectors in Spain (the CMT and the CNE in particular). Oriol and his team work closely with the Corporate and Financial team in analysing and advising companies on all kinds of mergers, as well as on the drafting and notification of commercial agreements in general.
Recent work includes the filing of several complaints against the abuse of dominant positions in different sectors and competition advice to the purchasers in major merger transactions.
Intellectual Property
Oriol advises on all forms of intellectual property. Together with the Litigation and Arbitration team, he acts before the civil and administrative courts and tribunals. He also specialises in matters relating to unfair competition and in drafting contracts involving licensing and technology and know-how transfer, according to the commercial and, where appropriate, technological needs of his clients. He has extensive experience in all matters involving copyright and protection of software and database applications, etc.
ACADEMIC AND PUBLISHING COLLABORATIONS
Oriol regularly gives seminars and attends conferences as an expert in EU and Competition Law, and Intellectual Property. He contributes to the legal and business press and has published a wide range of articles and works on these practice areas.
Oriol currently lectures in Competition and EU Law at Carlos III University and The Madrid Bar Association.
