Formerly a tax consultant at Arthur Andersen S/C, he has extensive experience in tax onsultation and planning, having advised Brazilian and foreign companies on structuring investments in Brazil and abroad. As partner in charge of the Tax Department of the office, he coordinates the tax litigation area in the administrative and judicial spheres, particularly at the appellate level where he has won many leading cases. Due to his visits to our associate office in Lisbon, he has particular expertise in international tax planning and tax consulting to foreign companies wishing to set up Brazilian operations. He also strongly works in the infrastructure market, specially in the energy sector. He is the Brazilian correspondent for Derivatives Magazine, annually updating its chapter on tax law in Brazil.
The partner in charge of the office’s Tax Department, André Gomes de Oliveira was recognized as one of the best Brazilian Tax lawyers in international taxation, by the International Tax Review (ITR), a Euromoney publication.
