The fate of Marc Dreier, the once respected Manhattan litigator, provides a timely parable. In the 1990s, Dreier co-headed the litigation department at Fulbright & Jaworski, but he wanted more, so quit and founded his own firm: Dreier LLP, which grew to 250 lawyers, in little over a decade.

In our most recent issue, Chambers Magazine interviewed leading anti-trust lawyer Michael Hausfeld on the impact of the government rejection of the Civil Justice Council report. The CJC Report had recommended an improved ‘opt-out’ system of class actions, as a way to improve consumer rights and prevent cartelisation.
