This year’s FTSE Survey is the biggest ever. It has become essential reading for all lawyers acting for the FTSE 100 and 250.
Responses from clients have reached an impressive proportion,
with all the FTSE 100 participating and 229 of the FTSE 250.

More than 20 of last year’s FTSE 100 have either left the index altogether (such as Northern Rock) or moved to the FTSE 250 (such as ITV), to be replaced by growing companies. Over fifty FTSE 250 participants from last year left the index by the time of this year’s survey, conducted in late summer last year and updated in January. To gauge the changes in the FTSE’s use of law firms, then, it’s necessary to go beyond the survey’s headline figures.
